Feb. 5, 2010 - Made the decision to adopt
Feb. 9, 2010 - attended Holt Adoption 101 webinar
Feb. 11, 2010 - attended Holt Adopting from Africa webinar
Feb. 12, 2010 - contacted Lutheran Service Society to begin home study process
Feb. 18, 2010 - submitted completed application materials to Holt International Children's Services
Mar. 11, 2010 - was accepted into Holt's Ethiopia adoption program
Mar. 19, 2010 - had home study & dossier physicals with our Dr.
Mar. 22, 2010 - sent completed home study materials to LSS
Apr. 4, 2010 - Happy Easter! We shared the good news with family
Apr. 5, 2010 - began calling & emailing friends to share the good news
Apr. 9, 2010 - had 1st home study visit with LSS social worker
Apr. 10, 2010 - had 2nd home study visit iwth LSS social worker
Apr. 27, 2010 - home study approved by Holt
May 7, 2010 - received home study approval letter & dossier invoice. FedEx'd dossier to Holt!
May 10, 2010 - dossier 2 Holt
May 13, 2010 - #21 on wait list for referral
June 3, 2010 - DTE!
June 4, 2010 - USCIS fingerprinting
June 11, 2010 - REFERRAL!
Aug. 6, 2010 - case submitted to courts
Aug. 23, 2010 - received notification of court date for Nov. 22nd
Aug. 28, 2010 - Markos' 4th birthday
Nov. 22, 2010 - Attended court hearing and passed, thereby becoming Markos' legal parents!
Jan. 3, 2011 - received travel email for Jan. 25th embassy appt.
Jan. 18, 2011 - began trip to Ethiopia for embassy appt.
Jan. 25, 2011 - embassy canceled our appt due to request for add'l documentation
Jan. 26, 2011 - had rescheduled embassy appt. & received Markos' visa
Jan. 27, 2011 - received visa and other documents from Embassy, left Ethiopia to head home!
